Big Hearts, Open Hands: Support Your Community on North Texas Giving Day
September 18th, 2013 | by The Update
Who says the holiday season is the only season to give? Tomorrow, people across North Texas will show their generosity by joining together in giving to charities that benefit our local communities on North Texas Giving Day.
You can go to DonorBridgeTX.org and peruse a list of local charities to give to, including food pantries, children’s hospitals, music and theater organizations, libraries, and much more. Giving begins on Thursday, September 19th at 7am and lasts until midnight that day. Plus, if you give more than $25 you may qualify for bonus funds that help you donation go even further to make a great impact on these charities.
During the day you can also head over to Communities Foundations of Texas at 5500 Caruth Haven Lane and join in celebrating our great DFW communities with live music from the Lone Star Wind Orchestra Tube-Euphonium Quartet, plus entertainment by Shakespeare Dallas and the Junior Players. Plus, the Dallas Zoo is bringing a penguin! There will also be lots of food trucks, so this would make a great lunch outing.
