The calendar might read Jan. 1, but it’s not too early to get your home ready for the Spring Market.
Expert agents at Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty say the buzz about Spring Market – the busiest home-buying season of the year – really begins at the end of January.
That gives you a few weeks to interview Realtors and get your home ready to list.
If you want to get a jumpstart this weekend, here are some quick tips for getting your home ready for sale:
- Empty your closets by half to give the impression of lots of storage. Prospective buyers want to see a home that is unburdened by stuff.
- Let there be light. Remove the curtains, clean the windows and let the sun shine in. Boost the wattage on your light bulbs. On of the top nearly everyone’s must-have list is a home that is light and bright.
- Stage the kitchen first. The kitchen is the most important room in the house when it comes to captivating buyers. Even one stainless-steel appliance gives the impression of a high-end finish.
